Good Afternoon,

Today is the last day of this absolutely horrid heat wave and we are looking for relief tomorrow. Time to get back out there with our beloved 4-leggers and ride!

We have a busy calendar for September and October. Here are the highlights of what we have going on and the ways that you can volunteer and participate:

Patriotic Gymkhana show: Tomorrow Saturday 9/10/22

We will begin sign-ups at 7am and show starts at 9am. We need help putting out the signs, taking out obstacles from conex shed and helping in the announcer booth.

2nd Amaze Day Playday: September 24th

Come try out our fun new obstacle courses and challenge yourself and horse skills as you navigate over trot poles, flags, carrying saddle bags, small jumps, poles, cones and barrels. Lots of fun with great prizes! Sign-ups begin at 7:30am and show starts at 9:30am with riders meeting at 9am. We will need help setting up the courses, putting out the signs in the morning, snack bar and announcer booth assistance. I will send out the diagrams and rules the week of the event. We also have an online entry form you can fill out.

RIDING CLINIC #1-Ground work Sept. 28th

I will be holding another series of three clinics beginning with ground work for respect and control of each working part of your horse. Clinic will start at 6pm. You will need to rsvp for this clinic as we have room for only 10 riders. If not enough interest in the groundwork...we can hold a body-control clinic to start.

show up between 8-9am for coffee and donuts. Workday to start by 9am. We will be staining the old railing, painting stall numbers on the panels, creating a walkway around the perimeter of arena so we have access to sprinklers, clear the arena railing of bushes and branches intruding into arena and general cleanup of our parking area. We need to complete this before the winter rains begin. Please...join us if you can and bring rakes, wheelbarrows, clippers, pole-saws, weedeaters, etc...

FALL FEST GYMKHANA  October 8 & 9th

Our annual 2 day buckle show which tends to bring a large amount of riders from all over northern California.

NEW!!! 2ND ANNUAL 29 & UP adult playday Oct. 22nd

A very fun show with 6 different events in the arena as well as a costume contest. A buckle will be raffled off in each of the three divisions offered and awards down to 4th place in each division. A huge raffle will be offered as well and we are looking for all kinds of raffle donations! Can be tack, grain, framed pictures, gift certificates, business baskets, etc... Please help us fill our table with raffle items! See the attached flyer for more information.

OCTOBER 29TH-PHA  Annual members Halloween playday

Spooktacular fun games inside and outside of arena with a costume contest. Pumpkin pie eating contest, apple bobbing, stick horse races, marshmallow on a string for everyone! We will need help coordinating this event. This has always been one of our most popular events that we offer to our members. Let's make this one extraordinary!

At our meeting on Tuesday night, we discussed the need to get our 2023 schedule together. Our next board meeting on October 4th will be the time that we get all of our ideas and put them on paper. We have some great, new, fun rides in the works for next year!

Good Morning,

Our Treasure Hunt Ride is happening this Saturday at Meadowbrook Ranch. We have 29 pre-entered and will cap our riders at 45. Today is last day for pre-entries. Riders can begin riding out at 8:30 with the last rider out by 10am. Treasure Bags need to be turned in by 1pm at the latest. Lunch will be served beginning at 11:30am.

We will be needing help with counting the treasures after the ride as well as someone helping with parking in the morning.

We have our annual PHA campout and dinner Saturday evening and I am a little disappointed with the lack of members attending this free dinner and campout that we provide for our members. Not sure why when this is a beautiful facility with great riding trails and a great opportunity for our members to spend time together. Tammy Elam is working hard to bring us a great BBQ Ribs dinner. Our members will be bringing a potluck dish to share. Please let us know if you are planning to attend.

We have a busy weekend following this with a gymkhana show on Saturday and our first "Amaze" Day on Sunday. Hoping we have more interest from our members regarding this weekend.

Good Morning,

We are canceling our general/board meeting for next Tuesday August 2nd. We are focusing on our Treasure Hunt Ride for August 6th.

If you are staying the night Saturday the MUST RSVP so we know how much food to prepare. If you are only staying for dinner...we need to know that too. This is a potluck dinner for PHA members, so please bring a side dish to share. We are hoping for dinner around 5:30pm.

We already have 20 riders pre-entered for this ride and we are expecting around 45 total. We have nice awards and the trails are beautiful up at Meadowbrook. You won't want to miss this. We are also having a "pirate" costume if you really want to dress the part...we have an award for the best costume.

August 13 is a gymkhana show, August 14 is an "Amaze Day" playday. We will need snack bar help both days and a lot of help on Sunday to set up the mazes.

NEW: Mounted Shooting Clinic November 19th. If you missed the last one or want to desensitize your horses...mark this on your calendar.
